Best DJ Equipment of 2017

Happy New Year everyone! Looking to get into DJ'ing or upgrade your gear? We have rounded up some of the best DJ equipment of 2017.

First we have the Pioneer XDJ-RX2. One of the most talked about DJ Controllers of 2017, the XDJ-RX2 is an upgrade of the best selling DJ controller of the year combined with features and traits from the flagship NXS2 series. The 2-deck, 2-channel all-in-one system delivers a professional DJ experience whether you connect it to rekordbox dj via your laptop or music stored on a USB device. Next up we have the Denon Prime SC5000. This groundbreaking digital DJ Media Player has a high definition, high-contrast display that enables multi-touch gestures for the ultimate in latency-free, tactile track navigation, load and playback. The SC5000 is also the world’s first DJ Player capable of on-board music file analysis, really empowering you with its innovative dual-layer deck capability and an 8-inch rugged jog wheel with central display that displays either current playing track or custom artwork.

Our next DJ controller is the Roland DJ-808. This is a four-channel controller that comes with an integrated 16-step drum sequencer loaded with sounds from iconic Roland drum machines: the 606, 707, 808, and 909. It lets you program drum patterns while you DJ, and can also be used to trigger the updated Serato DJ eight slot sampler. Other controls include two jog wheels with green centre LED rings, 16 performance pads, and crossfader / channel curve switches, and input selection switches. It also has phono/line inputs, and is compatible with Serato DVS.

Next we have the Pioneer DDJ-XP1.Whether you use turntables, multi-players or external devices, the DDJ-XP1 will bring a whole new sphere of creative possibilities to your DJ performances. This robust add-on controller with intuitive layout and 32 performance pads is designed to get the most out of rekordbox dj and rekordbox dvs. So add the DDJ-XP1 to your setup and enjoy tactile control over Hot Cues, Pad FX, Beat Jump, Sampler, Beat Loop or the new Key Shift and Keyboard modes. Amazing value for money!

Next up we have the Reloop Touch. Reloop’s latest DJ controller lives up to its Touch moniker by featuring a 7-inch full-colour touchscreen that can be used as an XY pad for effects control, to browse and select tracks, and to enable video mixing. Designed for use with VirtualDJ Pro 8, which comes included, Touch is based on a 4-channel mixing layout and comes with a combined EQ/filter section. Each of the two deck sections features high-resolution jogwheels, faders and performance pads, and effects. An audio interface is built in, and MIDI compatibility means that the Touch can be used with your DJ software of choice.

Next up is the Numark NS6II. This is a 4 channel Serato DJ enabled controller aimed at the pro DJ market and features all Numark’s touch capacitive knobs and effects, similar to that on the Numark NV2. One special stand out feature is dual USB ports for easy DJ changeover. It also has LCD screens in each jog wheel.

The Pioneer DJS-1000 is next on our list. Intuitively create unique sounds and phrases in advance of your set, or on the fly. Use the DJ-friendly interface to sequence and loop your samples as you wish. With a 7-inch full-colour touch screen, 16 multicoloured step input keys, multi-coloured Performance Pads, a host of inputs and outputs, Live Sampling and various other performance features, having the DJS-1000 in the booth will propel your sets to the next level. The Roland DJ-202 is a baby brother to the DJ-505 & DJ-808. It includes a standalone TR drum machine and sequencer along with Serato DJ Intro at an affordable price. It also has MIDI output, MIC input, Performance Pads, 4-decks of control, and separate filters and gain controls with LED level indicators. An excellent controller for starter DJ's & those who want something a little extra to play with thanks to the included TR drum machine.

Finally we have the Pioneer DJM-750 MK2. Taking many features from the flagship DJM-900 NXS2, this is an excellent 4 channel pro mixer for those working to a tighter budget. With an improved sound card, with routing for FX via USB allowing the DJ to add software effects into the audio chain. Comes bundled with rekordbox DJ & rekordbox DVS software.
